singing together makes you happy! however, this promise of happiness is not entirely untroubled: you are controlled by others when the conductor has the last word - and dedication to a community often goes hand in hand with giving up individual freedom. this applies to the classical concert choir - but is it so fundamentally different in a solo vocal ensemble specialising in contemporary music?

in the music theatre "Yes! Yes! Yes! The TV show!", the concert choir of the Europa Chor Akademie Görlitz and the vocal ensemble AuditivVokal Dresden compete against each other in the format of a game show, based on the assertion of combining the individual and the collective in their own "singing system" in the best possible way. they will be challenged by Der Jugendchor Heidenau. the choir raises the question of what holds choral singing together at its core - and, together with a panel of prominent experts, observes the two ensembles as they search for answers to the singing games composed by Hans-Joachim Hespos and Eloain Lovis Hübner.

Gemeinsam singen macht glücklich! Doch dieses Glücksversprechen ist nicht ganz ungetrübt: Man ist fremdbestimmt, wenn der Dirigent das letzte Wort hat - und die Hingabe an eine Gemeinschaft geht oft mit dem Verzicht auf individuelle Freiheit einher. Das gilt für den klassischen Konzertchor - aber ist das bei Vokalsolisten, die sich auf zeitgenössische Musik spezialisiert hat, so grundlegend anders?
Im Musiktheater „Yes! Yes! Ja! Die Fernsehshow!“ treten der Konzertchor der Europa Chor Akademie Görlitz und das Vokalensemble AuditivVokal Dresden im Format einer Spielshow gegeneinander an, mit dem Anspruch, das Individuelle und das Kollektive im eigenen ‚Gesangssystem‘ bestmöglich zu verbinden. Herausgefordert werden sie vom Jugendchor Heidenau. Der Chor stellt die Frage, was den Chorgesang im Kern zusammenhält - und beobachtet gemeinsam mit einer prominent besetzten Expert:innenrunde die beiden Ensembles bei der Suche nach Antworten auf die von Hans-Joachim Hespos und Eloain Lovis Hübner komponierten Singspiele.
